Hot Summer Fun

Oh, how the summer flies when you're having Fun! So far this summer has been busy! It's been hotter than normal, and with only one room air conditioned we really felt it. Bob & I have had lots of doctor appointments and we've been trying to clean the basement before football season begins. We painted the back porch and had some trees taken down. Bob's driveway garden is overflowing with veggies. We've been getting lots of tomatoes, all kinds of peppers, green beans, cucumbers like crazy, and tons of herbs.
Lexi has discovered u-tube and has been watching her favorites like Madigascar or Phineas & Ferb clips. She's also spiderman crazy right now. Everyday there's more & more pictures of Spiderman & The Hulk being drawn. She's really a good artist. She already finished her two weeks of Girlscout camp and got her swimming badge. She had a great time and wants to go again next year, and says she wants to go again when she's older to learn Archery. It's funny to see the things she's interested in. We've also gone to the movies a couple of times, some carnivals and fairs, and all the fireworks Bob can find.
And this Crafty Mama has been busy. While I'm not great at taking pictures of everything I do, I'm trying to be better about this now that my items are being sold at Crafter's Haven. Last night I started on a new blanket, but I've been making lots of shawls, either with trellis yarn or ribbon yarn. They come out so beautiful. Aunt Do got a brownish ribbon one for her 70th birthday. We went to the party a couple of weeks ago when she came up from Florida. So far I made a bunch of jean pocketbooks, a basket full of pin cushions, some tu-tu's, and several rag wreaths. And plans for much more, but with me the thinking and gathering stage takes a long time.
We just lost a good friend, Danny, after a short fight with cancer. May he rest in peace.
We have a new member of the family. Sunday we adopted a new kitten that Lexi named Juliet. The cutest, tiniest little kitten. She's gonna be a tough one though. She's good at climbing, and already gave Saphire a couple of swats. We're hoping she's a good mouser since this old house always gets a couple. Kotcha (our older cat) has been avoiding her, while Saphire (our Dog) has been being a good big brother by giving up his bed to the kitty and keeping a close eye on her. They even played tag a little yesterday, even though Saphire is 10x bigger than her.
I don't get much time at the computer but promise to post pictures soon. Maybe not today though since we're getting a new couch, so I have some cleaning & moving of furniture to take care of. UGH!  Time to get started. More soon....

OK...So it's been a really long time since I added anything but I've been busy! Just finished the poncho the other day and the shawl right before that. I've also been hard at work making hats for operation gratitude, but had to make one for Lexi also. And Heather's new Baby arrived in December, so I though Colton could use a snowmand hat!
